"J-Parks" is a concept for an eco-friendly parkour shoe. Tasked with designing a sustainable sneaker, I started from a rugged, wall-gripping Converse hightop and evolved it into a form-fitting sock-like upper inspired by cat paws — with replaceable

About this Project

The brief was a new eco-friendly shoe. My first instinct was a parkour shoe: a rugged sole wrapping up around the toes for grip on walls, inspired by the Converse hightop. That first version felt too boxy, so l redesigned it to be leaner and more sock-like, taking cues from the shape of a cat's paw.

The final concept centers on a form-fitting upper with replaceable soles - reducing waste while letting the shoe be customized and personalized for each wearer. The final foam model is a men's size 10.5, built up from a quarter-scale clay model.

Designed and modeled in the Industrial Design Pre-College Program at California College of the Arts.
